Editorial Notes: What is Gasavan
Gasavan means chat, conversation, sweet talk and it has been used as a socialization and acculturation tool in social environments and between generations in Turkish cultural history. This cultural transfer tool, which is seen today in the Mediterranean region and some Aegean Yoruks, is important in terms of oral culture tradition. This narrative form, which fulfills the function of the written tradition, is based on observations and good or bad events that the narrator or someone else has experienced, using sometimes the element of imitation and sometimes the element of exaggeration. For this reason, the narrator is often called mukallit (imitator) to draw attention to the imitation element in the narration. The addition of exaggeration to it finds its place with the expression of blowing gasavan.
From an anthropological point of view, it is possible to associate such narratives and narrators with the Stories of Meddah (meditationon /meditators) and the Stories (Book) of Dede Korkut. If we consider this socio-cultural phenomenon from a phenomenological point of view, it is possible to come across shamanic genes in the work of narrating gasavan, based on the principle "every phenomenon is a genome". The narrative styles of gasavan narrators or gasavan blowers and the literary arts they use, their mediums of expression, tools, personal characteristics and therapeutic qualities such as being a Fire Cult to the formation of a shaman image in our minds and a picture that bears the traces of the shaman rituals and ceremonies.
From this point of view, Gasavan as a Literature Area is a literary space established with the aim of conveying the products of art, idea and thoughts of the writers who have a story to tell, produce thoughts based on their observations, and want to express themselves on any subject. In this field of literature, every product that is not pleasant such as insults or profanity and every product that does not harm personal rights is evaluated and published in accord with the editorial process . If necessary, corrections are made through editorial procedures and then published.
